About Perryville, MO - Happy to be your hometown Heating & Air Conditioning Contractor!
Situated in Perry County, Missouri, Perryville is a fourth-class city with an estimated population of more than 8,300 residents. Nestled just 30 minutes from Cape Girardeau along Interstate 55 Highway and one and a half hours south of St. Louis, it is the county seat of Perry County, known for its historic charm, high quality of life, exceptional natural beauty and laid-back atmosphere.
The community was incorporated in 1831, however, this incorporation soon lapsed. The village was later reincorporated in 1856, after which the population growth of Perryville steadily increased, reaching 336 residents by 1860. Fast-forward 10 years, the population had topped 500 residents and commerce became concentrated with the establishment of a furniture store, dry goods store, jeweler, hotel and two grocery stores.
Rail service was initiated in the city by Perryville, Chester and St. Genevieve in 1892, and by 1904, the first railroad depot was built after the Frisco Railroad Line extended its tracks into Perry County. In 1913, Perryville’s first power plant opened its doors, providing its residents with electricity at an affordable rate.
In 1923, the Chamber of Commerce was formed and brought real economic development efforts to the region, which led to the establishment of Perryville Industrial Park - now housing a diverse mix of industries - as well as an Enterprise Zone. The completion of the I-55 Highway corridor, on the other hand, brought the prospect of new businesses in Perryville.
As of today, the city has grown to become a service and commercial hub for the surrounding areas. The Perry County Courthouse is the heart of Perryville, which features decorative tree plantings, sidewalks and “Washington” style light fixtures. The Perry Park Center provides residents a library, gymnasium, movie theater, aquatics center, performing arts center as well as sports facilities.
Perry County Memorial Hospital is the main health provider for Perryville and Perry County. Students in the city are served by the Perry County School District No. 32 and two private parochial school systems, including Immanuel Lutheran School, St. Vincent DePaul Catholic School, as well as St. Vincent High School.
The city gets 45 inches of rainfall and 5 inches of snowfall per year. With the average high in summers around 89 degrees, having a reliable air conditioning system is essential to maintaining a comfortable environment in your home. Additionally, since the mercury drops as low as 21 in winters, consider installing a heat pump to keep your home well heated.
